The backbone of FAST's systems development and implementation approach is 8x, a breakthrough
software development framework. The 8x framework dramatically reduces the time required to create
software and make programming changes. It's called 8x because it helps you complete the programming
process 8 times faster than traditional development tools and approaches.
Using 8x, your system designers – a group that can include business analysts, systems analysts,
developers and architects – configure the desired GUI, database and processing rules for a software
component you would like to create. 8x then automatically generates that software component and the
underlying source code in a matter of minutes. The rules and configuration can be updated and
modified – and the component can be regenerated – continually. Also, since 8x is generating source
code, you can make changes directly into the code using standard compilers. This allows for a rapid,
agile development of systems without the typical constraints associated with traditional development.
Details
8x automatically creates components with the following technical attributes:
- SOA-compliant Web Services for all functionality
- Data-centric and data-driven APIs and Events
- True standalone, interface-ready components
- Easily integrated with all major BPM products
- A layered architecture that follows the model-view-controller (MVC) design pattern
